Hello Writers!
Starting to daydream about summer’s more laid back pace? A chance to kick back and catch up on all the books you want to read — and more free time to write?
I’m hoping to unplug for the month of August — but until then I’m super excited to be teaching one more session of the CNF Outliers e-course!
Registration opens tomorrow for my popular 6-week intro to the flash essay, prose poem, lyric essay and hermit crab essay, which will run June 19 through July 24.
Limited space is available, so please get in touch soon to confirm your spot.
Here are three reasons to consider signing up this session:
1. The opportunity to write and receive feedback on new work, and learn next steps for revision and publication. Generating new work in the summer gives you ample time to revise and submit to contests like the Malahat Review’s Constance Rooke CNF prize (closes August 1) or the Open Season Awards (closes November 1) — as well as competitions that close in the winter/spring like the CBC Nonfiction Prize, Room’s Creative Non-Fiction contest and Event’s Non-Fiction contest.
2. You’ll be in excellent company! Room editor and LitMagLove founder, Rachel Thompson, will be participating this session. So will award-winning writer, Rowan Smith-McCandless, who enjoyed the course so much she’ll be joining in a second time.
3. Over the summer I’ll be considering a revamp of the course with a new platform and new pricing for the next session in late September/October.
Want to jump in on June 19th? Here are all the important details!
